FirstEnergy Corp. announced that Holly Kauffman has been named vice president of operations for its jersey Central power & Light (JCP&L) subsidiary. Kauffman will oversee the operations of JCP&L’s transmission, distribution, dispatching, substation, engineering, forestry, meter reading and support services functions.
Kauffman has been serving as director of extra-high voltage projects for FirstEnergy and managed the engineering, construction and project management of transmission projects. She previously had been the project manager for the Trans-Allegheny Interstate Line (TrAIL) project, a 151-mile transmission infrastructure project that spans Pennsylvania, West Virginia and Virginia. Before being named to her current position, she held management positions with Allegheny Energy, which merged in 2011 with FirstEnergy, including general manager of operations in western Pennsylvania, the West Virginia panhandle and Virginia; and general manager of operations support.
“With her extensive experience in electric utility infrastructure development, Holly is a great addition to our team,” said Don Lynch, JCP&L president. “She will bring strong leadership overseeing our continuous improvement efforts to deliver JCP&L customers the quality service they expect and deserve.”
Kauffman earned a bachelor’s degree in computer science from Penn State University, a master’s degree in industrial engineering from the University of Pittsburgh and a master’s degree in business administration from Duquesne University.
