In connection with the U.N. Climate Change Conference in Copenhagen, IDC has undertaken an extensive study to determine the role of ICT in enhancing environmental sustainability. IDC released its research findings at a Dec. 10 international press conference. 

 

The study constitutes a foundation for dialogue on how intelligent use of information technology can optimize business processes so that overall carbon emissions are reduced. It looks at business processes in leading industry sectors and compares the carbon emissions of companies that have optimized their processes and those that haven’t.
