ACRT Inc., a leader in utility vegetation management, recently announced a promotion and transfer within the company, which is independently operated and 100 percent employee-owned.

Bryan Durr, formerly a senior consulting utility arborist, has been promoted to operations manager in the southeast region. William “Todd” Rockwell, operations manager, will move from his current post to service the northeast region.

Durr joined ACRT in June 2006 as a West Coast Ready Force team member, a division of ACRT dedicated to assisting utility companies with storm and emergency response. He gained experience working with several utilities and is now based out of the central Florida region.

“I am looking forward to the opportunity of working with other utilities,” Durr said. “I believe we (ACRT Inc.) will build on our success in the southeast region and strengthen our relationships with our customers.”

Durr is a 2003 graduate of Hocking College, a premier natural resources school in the Midwest, and is an ISA-certified arborist and utility specialist. He is a member of the ACRT Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP) communication committee and an active contributor with ESOP organizations in Ohio and the western states.

Rockwell has been with ACRT more than 13 years, having held numerous roles and responsibilities within the company. He started as a utility arborist performing compliance pruning and removal and was promoted to senior utility arborist, where he was responsible for utility line inspection training and system surveys.

In 2004, Rockwell assumed his current position as operations manager, specializing in project management, personnel training, customer relations, recruitment, contract development and pole asset management. He recently worked from various locations in California, heading the West Coast division. He now oversees the northeast region, including Pennsylvania, Maryland, West Virginia, Vermont, Massachusetts, New York and parts of Ohio.

“The northeast is a great region, and I’m looking forward to working with new utilities and building new relationships,” Rockwell said. “I’m proud to be a member of the ACRT team and am excited to help the company continue to grow and develop in this territory.”

Rockwell holds an associate’s degree in natural resource conservation, majoring in forestry and wildlife management at State University of New York at Morrisville. He is an ISA-certified arborist and utility specialist, qualified applicator (licensed through California) and licensed ATV instructor. He is also a three-year member of ACRT’s employee-elected board of directors.

“Bryan and Todd are great contributors to the ACRT team, and we’re very pleased with these changes,” said Mike Weidner, ACRT president and CEO. “They both bring exceptional experience and strategic vision to the company as operations managers, and we can’t wait to see what they accomplish in the coming year.”
