As the director of media relations for Iberdrola USA, Dan Hucko is responsible for overseeing all interactions with the press for Iberdrola USA and its three operating companies—Central Maine Power, NYSEG and Rochester Gas & Electric—which serve more than 2.4 million customers across Maine and New York.
 
Before joining the Iberdrola USA management team in 2010, Hucko spent more than 25 years in high-ranking communications positions, including:
  • Senior vice president of corporate communications and investor relations at Harris Interactive
  • Senior vice president and managing director at Young & Rubicam, and
  • Founder and partner of Stanton & Hucko Inc. communications agency.
At Harris, in addition to having guided corporate communications strategies through the highly visible IPO and subsequent acquisitions, Hucko also served as the executive manager of The Harris Poll, one of the most reputable and longest-running public opinion polls in the United States.
 
Hucko earned a bachelor’s degree in fine arts in photography and cinema from The Ohio State University. He is the past chairperson of the National Investor Relations Institute (NIRI) Virtual Chapter Communications Committee. The work of that committee helped the Virtual Chapter win NIRI’s award for best chapter communications in 2007. He currently serves on the communications committee of the Boy Scouts of America Seneca Waterways Council in Rochester, N.Y.
