AES acquires 56% of Cameroon utility for approx. $70 million

The purchase price is approximately $70 million. The other 44% will remain with the government.

AUGUSTA, Maine, July 19, 2001 — Central Maine Power Co. today said it applauds a Federal Energy Regulatory Commission’s order starting a process to consolidate bulk-power and transmission markets in the Northeast.
