Allegheny Energy acquires equity interest in Utility Associates

This investment is another step in Allegheny Energy’s strategy to add value for shareholders by seizing investment opportunities in emerging growth companies.

HOUSTON, Feb. 13, 2001–With 10,000 MW out of service, electricity reserves are “dangerously low” raising the possibility of rotating blackouts during Tuesday’s peak evening demand, the California grid operator said.
