Allegheny Energy announces record 2000 earnings

The increase in earnings per share reflects Allegheny’s solid strategy for growth that continues to bring shareholder value. Drivers of increased earnings per share were higher net revenue and fewer shares outstanding as a result of the 1999 stock repurchase program.
