Alliance RTO companies submit compliance filing with FERC

The companies are seeking approval so that, on or before December 15, 2001, they may begin operation of an independent regional transmission organization designed to facilitate development of a robust, competitive electricity marketplace. In addition, the compliance filing meets all requirements of FERC Order No. 2000 and addresses independence, configuration and pricing.

WASHINGTON, Sept. 14, 2000 (Bloomberg News and The Cincinnati Enquirer) – Utilities in 19 states, including Cinergy Corp., Thursday won an extra 13 months to finish billions of dollars of upgrades or replacements of coal-fired power plants after a federal court extended the implementation deadline for clean-air rules.
