Schlumberger Resource Management Services has acquired the assets of CellNet Data Systems Inc.

M3i Systems Inc. and Convergent Group have formed an alliance that will enable Convergent Group to configure and resell a range of M3i software products as part of its e-business solutions delivery service.

Excelergy Corp. and Siebel Systems Inc. have entered an alliance to provide a comprehensive, integrated Web-based customer relationship management, enrollment and billing solution. Excelergy has joined the Siebel Alliance Program and will combine its own Web-based customer information and transaction software with Siebel’s Front Office Applications.

ABB Power T&D Company Inc. and Catalyst Power Partners have formed a technology-independent, vendor-neutral alliance to serve North America’s market for independent on-site energy systems.

Navigant Consulting Inc.’s Spatial IT Solutions unit has entered a transatlantic partnering arrangement with Netherlands-based technology firm Tensing*SKS. Under the arrangement, Navigant will resell Tensing*SKS software and build applications that enhance the software’s capabilities for the U.S. market. In return Tensing*SKS will resell Navigant’s suite of Smallworld performance products in Europe.

Invensys Building Systems Inc. and Engage Networks Inc. have entered into a joint venture to develop and market integrated e-commerce/energy management solutions to commercial, institutional and industrial energy consumers. The venture takes the form of a separate commercial entity called eLutions Inc. and is based in Tampa, Fla.

Telenetics Corp. has acquired the AirLink wireless technology from Greenland Corp. for an undisclosed sum. AirLink, developed by Greenland, is a wireless data gathering system for the utility industry. It enables utilities to read meters and transmit the data to a control computer for use in customer billing and load/resource management.

Execelergy Customer Care Solutions has netted a $2 million investment from Hummer Winblad Venture Partners. Hummer Winblad cites the ripe market opportunity–due to deregulation and changing technology–and Excelergy`s customer care and billing systems as two key reasons for selecting the company for investment.

SAP AG has announced an equity investment by the SAP Venture Fund in Red Hat Software Inc., a commercial-grade provider of the Linux operating system. Linux is a stable, reliable and viable operating system developed according to the Open Source model that has matured to the point where it is ready to run mission-critical business applications.
