American Wind Energy Association launches new information website

Washington, D.C., Nov. 21, 2005 — The American Wind Energy Association (AWEA) has launched www.ifnotwind.org, a new Web site providing resources and information about the importance of developing new clean, renewable domestic wind energy resources instead of deepening dependence on polluting fossil fuels and imported resources.

The goal of the site is to focus attention on wind energy’s proper role in the nation’s energy infrastructure by answering the question: “If not wind, then what?”

The new site features sections covering:

* Basic wind energy information such as how a wind turbine works, the economics of wind energy, the benefits and the potential of the alternative energy source.

* Facts and myths about wind energy.

* The impact wind energy has on wildlife.

* A section outlining ongoing research and statistics about wind energy.
