Apogee Interactive Inc. and Planergy International Inc. alliance to enhance web portal for utilities

ATLANTA, Ga., Sept. 18, 2002 — Apogee Interactive Inc. and Planergy International Inc. have formed a strategic marketing alliance to better serve the power industry and its end-use customers.

Through this partnership, Apogee’s Demand Exchange® platform, Web courses and educational content will now be accessible through Planergy’s EnergyLinksà¢â€ž- comprehensive data and energy management portal.

Apogee’s Internet-based Demand Exchange platform enables utilities, energy service providers and their customers to operate and optimize multiple demand response programs such as voluntary, price-sensitive demand bid and buyback; conventional mandatory interruptible; and real-time pricing programs.

Planergy’s EnergyLinks delivers the energy management data and applications the utility customers need to effectively manage total energy costs. The heart of EnergyLinks is Planergy’s unique “Intelligent Portal,” a robust platform that enables the integration of diverse information and managed services through an intuitive, graphics-rich Web interface.

Coupled together, Demand Exchange users can now view critical customized energy information at a glance, ranging from their own interval meter data and system conditions to local weather and national industry benchmarks. Customers can then reduce their usage, verify fulfillment of the planned reductions, and capture maximum cost savings from participation in their Demand Exchange programs.
