APS assists in project to find suitable solar power sites

New York, NY, Jan. 23, 2007 — Arizona power retailer, Arizona Public Service (APS), a subsidiary of Pinnacle West Inc., has provided weather stations to EnviroMission for the collection of meteorological data to be used in the assessment of suitable sites for solar tower power stations in the region.

The first weather station has been installed on land made available by the State Land Trust for possible future solar tower development in North West Arizona.
Meteorological assessment is a critical localized factor in solar tower feasibility that heavily impacts on the overall design and scale decision for specific sites.

EnviroMission has agreed to reciprocate the in kind support of the APS by agreeing to make all weather data available to APS to further enhance their statewide data collection capability.
