APS doubles its solar generation capacity

PHOENIX, Az., April 10, 2001 — APS doubled its solar generating capacity last week with the dedication of three new solar facilities, bringing the amount of solar energy produced by the utility to nearly one megawatt. One megawatt is enough energy to power 1,000 homes.

HAGERSTOWN, Md., April 11, 2001 — Allegheny Energy, Inc. today announced that Alan J. Noia, Chairman of the Board, President, and Chief Executive Officer, has been elected to serve on the Electric Power Research Institute’s (EPRI) Board of Directors for a four-year term, beginning this month.
