Avista Corp.’s president and CEO elected as chairman of the board

Ely retains his titles of president and chief executive officer of Avista and succeeds Larry A. Stanley as board chairman. Stanley retires after having served on the Avista board since 1991 and as non-executive chairman of the board since last November.

OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla., May 14, 2001 – Kerr-McGee Chemical LLC, wholly owned by Kerr-McGee Corp., announced today that it has joined with Hydro-Quebec, Canada’s largest electric company, to optimize and market a unique, solid-state lithium metal polymer power cell in a 50/50 joint venture – “Avestor Corporation”.
