BL&P to Implement New SCADA System

Barbados Light and Power (BL&P) has selected KEMA Consulting to assist in procuring and implementing a new supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA) system for monitoring and controlling its electric power system. By implementing the system, BL&P expects to improve the performance and reliability of its power system, increase the efficiency of its dispatchers and field workforce, save costs and better serve its customers.

The scope of KEMA Consulting’s work includes analysis of BL&P’s business needs for SCADA and associated communication facilities, procurement of the required facilities, and continuous project management and technical support during this project through final commissioning. KEMA also planned to conduct a seminar to update BL&P personnel on the latest trends in SCADA technology.
