Bluewater Power and Canadian Niagara Power form business solutions partnership

SARNIA, ON, Aug. 16, 2001 — Bluewater Power Distribution Corporation and Canadian Niagara Power announced today the formation of a business solutions partnership to leverage the information technology capabilities of both companies in the Ontario electric utility industry.

Bluewater Power, located in southwestern Ontario, represents the recently merged municipal electric utilities of Sarnia, Petrolia, Point Edward, Warwick, Alvinston, and Oil Springs. CNP is a privately owned, diversified energy company located in Fort Erie, Ontario.

The partnership enables both companies to work together and share in the access, capabilities, and ongoing development of CNP’s customer care and billing template configured using SAP’s enterprise wide utility industry software and Bluewater Power’s IMO ready wholesale settlement and metering solution. The partnership positions both companies to take full advantage of a total market ready customer billing and settlement solution, along with completely integrated financial, materials and work management functionality.
