BP products North America selects ChanneLinx technology to establish electronic invoicing hub

GREENVILLE, S.C., Jan. 29, 2002 — ChanneLinx announced that BP Products North America has chosen its WebDI Data Exchange Service to automate the flow of invoices from downstream market suppliers.

WebDI will accommodate BP’s large and varied downstream supplier base by accepting invoices in multiple formats and protocols. Suppliers can choose from traditional VAN-based EDI, ASCII, newer protocols like Microsoft Biztalk and cXML, or proprietary formats like SAP’s IDOC and Baan’s BEF. Even the smallest suppliers without a back-office system will be able to send electronic invoices with WebDI’s Web Form Tool. Using only an Internet browser, suppliers can access the appropriate Web Form from a secure site and enter invoice information. This information then flows seamlessly into BP’s accounting system.

ChanneLinx will begin working immediately with BP’s downstream suppliers to convert them to the new electronic invoicing process. Representatives will assist suppliers with setup and registration, as well as provide training on the service.
