BPA moves to aid fish affected by emergency power operations

This is in addition to nearly $19 million in “high priority” projects that BPA announced in May to help jumpstart fish recovery efforts. The agency also left the door open for additional funding pending further review of other projects.

HOUSTON, July 12, 2001 — El Paso Corporation announced that on June 29, 2001, its wholly owned subsidiary, Golden Power Acquisition, L.L.C., purchased Ahlstrom Development Corporation, an American subsidiary of A. Ahlstrom Corporation of Finland. This transaction gives El Paso an equity interest in five coal-fired power plants located in California and Pennsylvania.
