California generators get favorable FERC ruling

HOUSTON, Apr. 9, 2001–Electricity generators operating in California will not have to provide power to the California Independent System Operator (ISO) without assurance of payment anymore, under a Friday ruling by the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission.

NORTH SALEM, NY, April 9, 2001 – Five utilities based in southern states outperformed their counterparts in restoring unexpected outages in the national independent customer assessment of power provider performance in emergencies.
