Calpine names Robert D. Kelly CFO

SAN JOSE, Calif. (PRNewswire-FirstCall) Calpine Corporation, the nation’s independent power company, today announced the promotion of Robert D. Kelly to executive vice president and chief financial officer, succeeding Ann Curtis, who was promoted to vice chairman of the corporation.

Kelly, as chief financial officer, will monitor the overall financial health of Calpine and will implement and contribute to all major financial decisions and transactions affecting the company. He will lead financial operations including: corporate accounting, finance, treasury and tax. Kelly will also continue in his role as President, Calpine Finance Company.

Prior to joining Calpine in 1990, he was marketing manager of Westinghouse Credit Corporation, where he started up the Energy Finance Division’s Western Region. He holds a master’s of business administration from Dalhousie University in Nova Scotia, Canada and received his bachelor of commerce degree from Memorial University in Newfoundland, Canada.
