Macrosoft, a New Jersey-based information technology company, conducted a survey that studies damage assessment practices followed by electric utilities.
The survey findings include:
· More than 90 percent indicate efficient damage assessment is a high contributing factor to successful power restoration;
· Only 19 percent can complete the restoration process on time;
· Sixty-two percent of field assessors typically have smart phones; and
· More than 83 percent are not entirely satisfied with their current process and tools.
