Capstone Consulting Partners releases BPO Service Provider Capabilities matrix

ATLANTA, September 3, 2004 — Capstone Consulting Partners, Inc., a provider of strategic, solution delivery and application management consulting services, this week released an enhanced version of its web portal, Solution Central. The new version nearly doubles the content of the original by adding information and profiles on utility service providers, summarized in the Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) Service Provider Capabilities matrix.

The BPO Service Provider Capabilities matrix focuses on utility vendors and their portfolio of services provided to clients on a contracted (per customer/meter/bill/click) basis. The matrix represents the full spectrum of services available to our industry, and delineates those services provided by a comprehensive list of vendors. The important differentiation of this matrix is the focus on “services provided” versus “functionality available” within a CIS Software product. For example, while most CIS software solutions provide “Metering” functionality (i.e. the ability to record consumption), relatively few service providers offer Meter Management or Meter Reading. For each of the competencies listed, the matrix indicates which service providers have a “live” operational North American utility client (full circle), are in the process of an implementation or actively pursuing (partial circle), or do not presently offer the service (blank).

The BPO Service Provider Capabilities matrix can be accessed by clicking here or via the Solutions area within the Solution Central web portal.

Since its release in May, the Solution Central web portal has become a leading source for CIS and customer care information and analysis in the utility industry, from front-end strategic feasibility, to implementation project best practices, to BPO/ASP procurement analysis. In addition to the newly released BPO Service Providers Capabilities Matrix, we continually update the site with industry News, additional Insights, and new Vendor Profiles. Capstone invites industry leaders to review and contribute to this growing repository of timely and relevant industry information.

“Since launching Solution Central just over four months ago, the response and interest in the portal has been tremendous,” says Kurt Zuch, Capstone’s Managing Partner. “The inclusion of information on utility service providers makes the portal even more compelling. Understanding the suite of available services and the providers that offer them helps the growing number of utilities that are contemplating outsourcing specific functions or the entire Customer Management and Billing process.”
