Cielo Wind Power and El Paso Electric flip switch at Hueco Mountain Wind Ranch to celebrate Earth Day

The Hueco Mountain Wind Ranchà¢â€ž- features two Vestas wind turbines. Standing at 213 feet tall, the turbines reach into the strong wind currents. The three turbine blades used to generate electricity travel a circle with a diameter of 154 feet. The turbines are expected to provide enough electricity to serve approximately 500 average El Paso households using only the natural wind of West Texas.

CALGARY, Alberta and SAN JOSE, Calif., April 19, 2001 – Encal Energy Ltd. and Calpine Corporation announced today that the merger of the two companies has been completed.
