Columbia, SC, Nov. 11, 2002 — SCT, a provider of advanced technology solutions for utilities, announced Monday that the city of Burbank, CA, has licensed the SCT Banner Advantage Customer Information System (CIS) along with components of CRM Essentials, as well as SCT EnerLink.
The agreement totals approximately $3.5 million over the next five years, and was signed during SCT’s fourth fiscal quarter, which ended September 30, 2002.
SCT’s solutions will allow the Burbank utility to streamline their customer service processes and offer their customers 24X7 Internet access, making specific account information, such as usage history, available to them.
Components of CRM Essentials, in tandem with EnerLink will support Burbank’s 50,000 electric, water and sewer customers, both residential customers and commercial and industrial (C&I) users.
The SCT solution will be replacing the City’s existing legacy mainframe system, which has been in production for over twenty years.
“SCT’s large client base, scalable architecture and comprehensive functionality were key factors in our selection process at Burbank,” said Ron Davis, general manager at the City of Burbank. “We have a diverse customer base, so our needs are complex. Being able to provide world-class service to all of our customers is of primary importance. We are confident that the SCT solution is the answer to our customers’ needs,” added Davis.
“What we found we needed most when we began our search for the appropriate solution was a tool that would allow our customer service representatives to abandon manual reporting practices. We also needed a solution that would give our customers a new option…the option of self-service,” said Joanne Fletcher, manager of customer service at Burbank.
“We are constantly seeking ways to make our employees more productive, while keeping our customers satisfied. With SCT’s robust system, we look forward to accomplishing these and other goals towards our quest for operational excellence.”
“At SCT, we are seeing clients exceed their initial expectations as they move into a fully implemented state with SCT solutions. We are pleased to add the City of Burbank to our client base,” said John Gregg, president of SCT global energy & utilities solutions.
“We continue to hear a common message from our clients — the need for greater access to key information as quickly as possible. Because we have such a large, varied client base at SCT, we have the experience and industry expertise to provide utility-specific solutions that the industry demands today,” said Gregg.
