Co-Ops’ power over land is unchecked

ATLANTA, Sept. 25, 2000 (The Atlanta Constitution)–Clayton Lewis Reeves Jr. feels as if he’s tilting at windmills, such are the odds in the fight against high-voltage power lines planned for his scenic mountain community.

BELLEAIR, Sept. 23, 2000 (St. Petersburg Times)–This small town took on Florida Power Corp. this week in a lawsuit over Belleair’s right to break away from the company and start a town-run electric utility.
