CHICAGO, April 25, 2002 — David Helwig, ComEd executive vice president of Operations, was recently appointed president and chief operating officer for InfraSource, an Exelon subsidiary based in Morton, Pa.
“David has done a tremendous job helping us turn around our transmission and distribution system,” said Pamela Strobel, Exelon executive vice president and chair of ComEd. “He brings extraordinary leadership and execution skills to his new position as president and COO of InfraSource.”
Helwig joins InfraSource after managing all areas of the ComEd transmission and distribution system. Prior to joining ComEd, Helwig served as general manager of the General Electric Nuclear Energy global services business, where he was responsible for maintenance and technical services, inspections, reactor modifications, engineering, plant modernization and nuclear industry programs.
Prior to General Electric, Helwig spent 23 years at PECO Energy where he held various positions in a variety of line, engineering and services areas. His roles included vice president of Nuclear Engineering and Services, vice president of the Limerick Generating Station as well as vice president of Power Delivery.
Former Philadelphia resident Greg Dudkin replaces Helwig, a resident of Naperville. For the past two years, Dudkin served as PECO Energy’s vice president, Customer and Marketing Services, and previously as vice president, Power Delivery. He has been responsible for management of the utility’s Call Center, Accounts Services, Accounts Receivables, Marketing, Economic Development, and Energy Usage.
“Greg is a proven and most capable leader who has been seasoned in all operational areas of the energy distribution business,” said Ken Lawrence, PECO president. “I know the men and women of ComEd will develop the same high regard to Greg that we all have at PECO.”
Dudkin, 43, is a certified professional engineer with a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Delaware and a MBA degree at Widener University in Chester, Pa.
Frank Jiruska, ComEd vice president, Energy Services, Marketing and Sales, was named PECO Energy’s new vice president, Customer & Marketing Services.
Jiruska, 41, had led the sales and marketing functions for ComEd’s residential and small and large commercial and industrial customers, a position he held since 1998.
“Frank has shown extraordinary leadership and performance during his tenure at ComEd,” said Strobel. “He integrated PECO and ComEd’s marketing organizations following our merger two years ago and played a key role in developing our approach to the deregulated retail electric marketplace. He will do well in his new role.”
Jiruska, a resident of Crystal Lake, joined ComEd in 1996 as director of Customer Marketing. Prior to joining the utility, he worked in numerous roles for Ameritech. He holds a bachelor’s degree in business from Marquette University and earned a MBA from Northern Illinois University.
ComEd and PECO are subsidiaries of Exelon Energy Delivery, a unit of Exelon Corporation, the parent company.
Commonwealth Edison is a unit of Chicago-based Exelon Corporation, one of the nation’s largest electric utilities with nearly $15 billion in revenues and a customer base of five million. ComEd provides service to more than 3.4 million customers across Northern Illinois, or 70 percent of the state’s population.
