Comverge announces $3.2 million Maingate contract with PPL Electric Utilities


FLORHAM PARK, N.J., April 9, 2002 — Comverge Technologies Inc., a subsidiary of Data Systems & Software Inc., announced today that it has entered into a $3.2 million contract for an integrated deployment of its Maingateà¢â€ž- C&I wireless web gateway system combined with its PowerCAMPà¢â€ž- End-to-End Energy Intelligenceà¢â€ž- software solution.

The contract provides for near real-time wireless automated meter reading (AMR) gateways, for PPL Electric Utilities’ (PPL) largest commercial and industrial (C&I) customers that together account for nearly one quarter of PPL Electric Utilities’ regional revenue. PPL Electric Utilities is a subsidiary of PPL Corporation. The wireless gateway deployments will be in a 10,000 square mile area of central and eastern Pennsylvania, for operation in 2002.
