Consumers complain about power prices; more would switch, poll finds

HOUSTON, July 19, 2001 – Electric utility customers complained of rising prices but were happier with their utilities’ reliability, compared to past surveys, said J.D. Power & Associates, Agoura Hills, Calif., in its annual survey.

CARACAS, VENEZUELA, July 18, 2001 – Bit௿½menes Orinoco, S.A. (BITOR) announced today that it has reached agreement regarding a new long-term Orimulsion fuel supply contract with Canada’s New Brunswick Power Corporation (NB Power). BITOR is a unit of Venezuela’s national energy company, Petr௿½leos de Venezuela (PDVSA).
