Distributed Power Inc. plans to acquire Chinese hydro-power plants

Lime Rock, CT, Nov 29, 2005 — Distributed Power Inc., an owner and developer of distributed generation facilities providing electric power and energy to industrial and commercial customers, announced that it plans to move forward on a letter of intent to acquire up to 240 megawatts of operating hydroelectric power plants in the People’s Republic of China.

The company plans to acquire a hydro company in Baoding in the Hebei Province of China whereby enabling the acquisition of eight additional hydroelectric projects with annual revenue of approximately $1 billion dollars.

China has enacted legislation and other measures that compel local governments which own hydroelectric projects to sell them to private enterprise.
