Duke Energy pursues license renewal for nuclear stations

This would enable the two power plants to produce electricity for North Carolina and South Carolina into the 2040s.

JUNO BEACH, Fla., June 13, 2001 — FPL Energy, LLC, a subsidiary of FPL Group, Inc., today announced that it will construct, operate and own a 517-megawatt, natural gas-fired power plant in Blythe, California.
