Duke energy venture to buy waste-to-energy plants

CHARLOTTE, Nov 11, 2000 (Bloomberg)— A Duke Energy Corp. joint venture agreed to buy stakes in two waste-to-energy plants from Allied Waste Industries Inc., the second-largest U.S. trash hauler, for $300 million to expand in the Northeast.
