Dynegy denies telling SDG&E to shut down plants

Dynegy and NRG Energy jointly own the 18 combustion turbines and the 951 MW Cabrillo Power Plant in Carlsbad, Calif. SDG&E operates both the plant and the turbines under a contract signed when the generating facilities were sold to Dynegy and NRG in 1999.

JUNO BEACH, Fla., April 17, 2001 — FPL Energy, LLC, a subsidiary of FPL Group, today announced it will build, own and operate a 1,789-megawatt, natural gas-fired power plant in the Dallas-Fort Worth area that will be one of the largest independent generation projects in the state.
