Electric City introduces LightMaster to reduce energy costs of small- to mid-size facilities

ELK GROVE, IL, February 12, 2002 – Electric City announced today that it is launching a new lighting energy savings system designed to address the needs of smaller facility owners.

The LightMaster automates all indoor and outdoor lighting functions for small and medium sized facilities, while providing energy savings through advanced daylight harvesting and on/off switching technology. The LightMaster fully integrates with Electric City’s EnergySaver(tm) lighting control system and GlobalCommander internet communications, power measurement/curtailment systems.

“We are excited about the launch of LightMaster,” stated John Mitola, CEO of Electric City Corp. “With the ongoing success of our EnergySaver, we have established ourselves as the leader in energy savings controls for lighting systems. As we continue to successfully serve more and more customers with our EnergySaver systems, we continued to receive requests to address smaller facilities. As a result, it became obvious to us that there was a very large portion of the marketplace that was being underserved. While the LightMaster addresses this part of the market, it is fully integrated with our EnergySaver and GlobalCommander, thereby fulfilling our vision to develop the world’s most advanced, automatic energy savings/power curtailment systems on a system-wide/utility-wide basis.”

The LightMaster was developed by Electric City’s in-house engineering group – experts with lighting control systems. It was designed to round out the EnergySaver product line and to deliver a lower cost lighting energy savings system to smaller facility owners. While similar to the EnergySaver, the LightMaster will provide a simpler level of power monitoring, daylight harvesting, scheduled re-lamping and on/off switching. In addition, the LightMaster can be integrated with Electric City’s GlobalCommander, internet-based control/measurement system in order to provide customers with additional points of real-time energy savings/power curtailment technology.

“We are confident that the LightMaster will allow us to expand our relationships with existing customers as well as give us an entry to new customers who operate smaller facilities,” added Mitola. “The LightMaster is an example of the ongoing product development efforts we have underway and underscores our desire to continue to bring new, cost effective energy savings business technologies and solutions to our customers. With this technology, we now have offerings that provide energy savings to all segments of commercial, industrial and outdoor lighting systems.”

Electric City’s EnergySaver technology provides customers with a system that reduces electricity demand and consumption from lighting systems between 20% and 50% while maintaining appropriate lighting levels. LightMaster extends the EnergySaver product line to smaller facility owners with an affordable and cost-effective technology.
