Electric transmission rates approved for new transmission company

The FERC order will allow International Transmission Co. to become the first stand-alone, completely separate, financially viable transmission company to be formed through divestiture of assets by a vertically integrated utility.

CLINTON, N.J., Sept. 27, 2000–Southern Illinois Power Cooperative (SIPC) had awarded a contract to Foster Wheeler Energy Corp. (FWEC) for a project to repower an SIPC power plant near Marion, Illinois.
