Electric utility generator inventory available through EIA

August 26, 2002 — The Energy Information Agency (EIA) has made available its 2000 Inventory of Electric Utility Power Plants in the U.S.

The year 2000 final database is now available on EIA’s Electricity Database Files at http://www.eia.doe.gov/cneaf/electricity/page/data.html, in DBF format.

The data file contains information regarding steam-electric plant operations and equipment design, including boilers, generators, cooling systems, flue gas particulate collectors, flue gas desulfurization units, stacks and flues.

These data are used by the Environmental Protection Agency as the basis of their Emissions Allowance Tracking System.

A PDF report on the subject is available at http://www.eia.doe.gov/cneaf/electricity/ipp/ipp00.pdf.
