Electricity choice program delayed 1 month in Texas

HOUSTON, May 16, 2001 – Texas’ retail electricity pilot was delayed for a month Tuesday the same day a national reliability organization put the state under a “watch” while it makes the transition to a competitive market.

SAN JOSE, Calif., May 15, 2001 – Calpine Corporation today announced that it has entered into an agreement to build, own and operate a 1,030-megawatt natural gas-fired electricity generating facility to be located in Berrien, Mich.
