Electricity prices down six years in a row, report says

WASHINGTON, Oct. 18, 2000 (U.S. Newswire) – American consumers’ awareness of electric deregulation jumped to 50.5 percent this year from a year earlier 37.6 percent, a report from Deloitte & Touche said. Consumer opinion also shifted negative towards the effects of deregulation as a majority (52.7 percent) of consumers polled now believe that rates will head up rather than down.
