Emergency work starts on North Dakota power line

Great River Energy notified the North Dakota Public Service Commission (PSC) of its declaration of a power emergency with regard to its Ramsey-McHenry 230 kV line that was leveled by straight line winds Aug. 12. Sixty-eight of its structures were destroyed in the storm.

Little Rock, Ark., Dec. 18, 2000–Nearly 6,000 Entergy employees from the four-state Entergy system, contractors, and other states’ utility companies’ line crews have been working around the clock to repair electrical equipment damaged by a major winter storm that began Tuesday night in Arkansas.
