Entergy extends application deadline for environmental grants

NEW ORLEANS, April 19, 2005 (PRNewswire-FirstCall) — Entergy Corporation is still accepting applications for the company’s sixth annual Environmental Stewardship Grant program. The program, which awarded a total of $150,000 in 2004, provides support to community-based projects that protect, enhance or preserve the environment. Grants are available up to $25,000, but typically range between $5,000 and $10,000. The application deadline is May 31, 2005.

“Entergy actively seeks opportunities to fund innovative approaches to preserving and enhancing the environment,” said Patty Riddlebarger, director of corporate contributions for Entergy. “Through our Environmental Stewardship Programs we are proud to partner with our employees and local environmental groups to sponsor grassroots environmental projects in the communities we serve.”

Gary Serio, vice president of corporate safety and environment, expressed his enthusiasm. “Entergy continues to invest in environmental stewardship — unique activities, programs, or projects that go beyond compliance with environmental laws and regulations. Entergy is working to preserve the environment and create a sustainable future for our children and our future generations,” he stated.
