Entergy to utilize D-SMES to assure power reliability

American Superconductor and GE formed a strategic alliance in April 2000 to market and sell D-SMES systems as a co-branded product offering to U.S. utilities to improve power grid reliability.

LAKE PLACID, N.Y., Sept. 20, 2000–The New York Power Authority (NYPA) is moving aggressively to help New York State meet the challenges of a competitive electric industry and to assure its own future strength, Eugene Zeltmann, NYPA president and COO, told representatives of the state’s municipal electric systems and rural cooperatives Wednesday.
