EPRI honors East Kentucky Power

Palo Alto, Calif., – March 11, 2001 – East Kentucky Power has been awarded the 2000 Technology Achievement Award by the Electric Power Research Institute (EPRI). Presented at the annual meeting of the National Rural Electric Cooperative Association (NRECA) in St Louis, the award honors electric cooperatives that have demonstrated leadership in the development, technology transfer, application and use of EPRI products and services.

SACRAMENTO, Calif., March 13 /PRNewswire/ – Mirant Corp. announced it has withdrawn its membership from Independent Energy Producers, an industry organization established to represent owners of power plants in California.
