ERCOT issues Friday alert as temperatures hit new highs

Electric load is running 1,000 Mw or “significantly” over forecasts, ERCOT said, “although ERCOT’s current plan shows adequate resources to serve the forecast peak load.”

ARLINGTON, Va., Aug. 31, 2000 — Through a subsidiary, AES Corp. Thursday said it has agreed to acquire Reliant Energy’s stake in El Salvador Energy Holdings SA for an undisclosed sum. The sale is expected to close by the end of the third quarter.
