LEXINGTON, MA, August 14, 2001 — Cary Bullock, chairman of Excelergy Corporation, will be recognized this month as one of the “Top 50 People in Energy IT” as judged by New Energy Economy Magazine.
Co-founded by Bullock in 1998, Excelergy delivers the world’s most advanced software products and technologies for managing inter-company collaboration in restructuring markets, such as the global energy and utilities industry.
According to New Energy Economy editors, each winner named to the first annual list “helped change the course of the future in energy. They are the best and brightest.” The honors will be published in the Pennwell magazine’s upcoming issue and can be viewed online, beginning the week of August 20, at /nee.pennnet.com/home.cfm.
Winners also will be recognized during the Power Systems World 2001 conference from September 10-12 in Houston, Texas.
Upon learning of his recognition last month, Bullock stated, “I’m flattered to be chosen, but the honor truly belongs to the Excelergy team. They are the brightest and most talented group I’ve worked with, and they have success in their blood. I’m grateful to be a member of this remarkable group of men and women.”
Throughout his 25 years in the energy industry, Bullock has been a pioneer in creating and harnessing new technology and standards to solve problems and create value in global energy markets. Last year, he was recognized for his career achievements by Hart’s Energy Markets in its celebration of the twentieth century’s “100 Most Influential People in Gas and Electricity.”
Under his chairmanship, Excelergy has become one of the fastest growing software companies in the US, and is widely regarded as one of the “thought leaders” in its market niche. In April 2001, Red Herring Magazine named Excelergy as one of its Top 50 Private Companies in its annual awards list.
