Excelergy wins technology award

SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. and LEXINGTON, Mass., May 23, 2002 — UPSIDE Magazine announced recently that Excelergy® Corp., a specialist in high performance software products for critical business processes in the energy/utility industry and other restructuring markets, has been selected for the UPSIDE Hot 100 list for 2002.

The seventh annual UPSIDE Hot 100 awards recognize excellence and innovation among the hottest global technology companies.

“Over the seven years of its existence,” said Jerry Borrell, editor-in-chief of UPSIDE Magazine, “this award has consistently recognized companies that have become the hallmark of excellence in technology. We expect big things from this year’s winners and look forward to following Excelergy’s continued success.”

The 2002 UPSIDE Hot 100 list was selected by a team of UPSIDE editors, venture capitalists, financial analysts, market researchers and other industry luminaries who evaluated hundreds of nominations in several major industry categories, including software, biotechnology, semiconductors, Internet infrastructure, and telecommunications. The award is judged based on a company’s technological achievements, customer acceptance of products or services, financial performance, industry partnerships, financial backing, management savvy and marketing prowess.

“We are very pleased to be recognized by UPSIDE as one of the top performing software technology companies in the world,” said Bill Mahoney, Excelergy’s president and chief executive officer. “This award is another testament to the strength of our business strategy, execution, and above all, the commitment to excellence displayed by all Excelergy colleagues, who work tirelessly to ensure the satisfaction of our growing number of global clients and partners.”

UPSIDE will publish the Hot 100 Award winners in its June 2002 issue. The list and the accompanying UPSIDE feature are also available on both www.upside.com and www.excelergy.com.
