LEXINGTON, Ky., June 27, 2005 — Exstream Software, Inc. announced the general availability of version 5.0 of its award-winning Dialogue enterprise personalization software for the creation and delivery of high quality customer communications through print/mail, real time and web-based channels.
Emerging out of an eighteen-month development cycle that included testing and deployment by over 85 customers in Exstream’s managed release program, Dialogue v5 is a major new release with more than 250 enhancements, including seven new modules and the all new Dialogue Anywhere for Marketing-a web-based design interface that allows users to create and test rules-based marketing messages over the Internet for incorporation into documents at run time. Dialogue v5 also includes significant enhancements to its interactive document environment, WebVerse, which allows companies to rapidly build and deploy all types of interactive document systems.
“Dialogue v5, including WebVerse v2 and the new Anywhere for Marketing, is a ‘leapfrog’ release that further extends the infrastructure for collaboratively building and delivering high quality, personalized, and consistent customer communications across the enterprise,” said Dan Kloiber, chief technology officer and co-founder of Exstream Software. “We are very proud of this release and the results many of our customers have already realized using it.”
Key enhancements in Dialogue v5 include:
“- Completely upgraded design interface-Many navigation enhancements, including new toolbars, buttons and customizable library views that greatly improve the user experience, as well as the ability to create role-based interfaces at the system or group level.
“- More control over long documents-Paragraphs and sections have been added as new objects so users can edit multiple sections at once, providing a more intuitive way to create long documents such as policies and booklets.
“- More PDF flexibility-Expands dynamic PDF import to all output drivers including AFP, Composed XML, PDF, PostScript, PPML, VIPP and VPS print streams. Plus, enhanced PDF security features allow users to add passwords, encrypt the PDF, control printing, and limit editing capabilities.
“- Three new output options-Output to VDX, PowerPoint and Composed XML for more delivery and integration options.
“- Integrated regression testing tools-New batch and visual compare utilities reduce testing time by allowing users to quickly compare two different runs of Dialogue ECF files. These testing capabilities are especially useful when upgrading to new versions of Dialogue or when making changes to Dialogue applications.
“- IBM Content Manager connector-Expands integration options by allowing users to dynamically pull content from IBM’s content manager.
“- Added Linux production environment-Provides users the ability to use SuSE and Red Hat LINUX as a Dialogue production environment.
“- Expanded logic designer-This visual design tool makes it easier for business users to create rules, formulas and function logic by using a graphical flowcharting interface.
“- Quark round-tripping-Quark import and output capability means users can convert QuarkXpress documents into fully variable Dialogue designs-and back into Quark .qxd files for ultimate graphic design control.
