FERC accepts Midwest ISO, Alliance settlement

“Alliance and the Midwest ISO are now offering to establish, for a transition period, one of the largest areas ever proposed for the elimination of transmission rate pancaking,” the Commission stated in its order.

May 4, 2001 – Alarmed over skyrocketing residential electricity rates, House Speaker John B. Harwood today called for a comprehensive review and possible repeal of the state law, passed in 1996 by the General Assembly, that deregulated Rhode Island’s electric generating industry.
