FERC orders generators to justify California power prices

HOUSTON, Mar. 13௿½The Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) ordered 13 electric power generators to justify prices they charged for power sold in California in January or refund $69 million in profits the agency said could have been excessive.

NEW YORK–(BUSINESS WIRE)–March 12, 2001–Standard & Poor’s said today that FERC’s order requiring power suppliers to make refunds for electricity sold to utilities during January should not adversely affect Edison Mission Energy Funding Corp. (Big 4).
