Florida Power now offers a new range of services for new residential customers and for customers moving within the company’s service territory through a partnership with Allconnect, a company that assists consumers in selecting and ordering brand name utility and communications services.
Florida Power’s new service, called Florida Power Connections, enables new Florida Power customers, as well as existing customers who are moving to a new location within the service territory, to establish services such as local and long distance phone service, newspaper subscription and other moving services–all while implementing new electricity service with Florida Power.
“As part of our Commitment to Excellence program, Florida Power pledged to enhance the services we provide to our 1.4 million customers,” said Martha Barnwell, director of customer service for Florida Power. “Our partnership with Allconnect provides our new mover customers a convenient service that simplifies the utility sign-up process.”
Florida Power’s Commitment to Excellence program, announced in early 2002, focuses on improving customer service, reducing prices, improving reliability and increasing generation reserve. Since implementing the program, Florida Power has reduced customer prices nine percent, begun a plan to invest $100 million in system reliability, broken ground on a new generation unit in Polk County, and continues to add value added customer service features such as the Allconnect partnership.
