FPL Energy to build and operate new power plant in Alabama

Electricity generated at the new power plant, which will have the capacity to power approximately 500,000 homes in the region, will be sold primarily under contract to Alabama Power Company, a subsidiary of Southern Company.

THE WOODLANDS, Texas, April 10, 2001 — Pantellos, the independent marketplace for the utility and energy services industries, today announced that more than 50 suppliers are now members in the Pantellos marketplace. Including alliances, agreements with affiliates and other non-member marketplace participants, Pantellos provides access to products and services from hundreds of suppliers.
