FTC approves Detroit Edison / Michigan Consolidated Gas Company ‘convergence’ merger

Antitrust concerns were assuaged by a proposal by the merging companies to divest pipeline capacity throughout the MichCon system to Exelon Energy Co. Hunton & Williams represented DTE Energy Co. as antitrust and regulatory counsel. Detroit Edison is the electric utility serving the Detroit metro area, and MichCon is the gas utility in Detroit.
